Magnetic Force Tank
July 2021
My design journey started in 2021 with the Magnetic Force Tank. I'd been test knitting for a while, and I thought I had a good handle on the design process. I was itching to create something from within my own brain, and I decided on a sleek, dressy tank that had a silky, drape-y neckline like I was seeing in the fashion world. It was both terrifying and exhilarating to create my own pattern and put it out into the world!
Summer Air Crop
September 2021
And so I caught the designing bug. Later that summer, I released a second design, the Summer Air Crop. This one was another tank top, but made out of cotton for more casual, everyday wear. I love the playful lace motif along the hem, and I learned so much about designing a v-neck!
Back In Time Dress
October 2022
It took almost a year for my next design, the Back In Time Dress, to be born -- it makes sense; as a teacher, I have most of my free time in the summer for designing, testing, and publishing a pattern -- but I think it's worth the wait. I knew I wanted to knit and design a dress, and this dress ended up being a near replica of one already in my closet. (P.S. This is the design I think I'm the most proud of.)
Sunday Matinee Sweater
November 2022
Most recently, my design journey has seen the Sunday Matinee Sweater into fruition. I was inspired by my yarn's color palette, and I just had to have a color-blocked sweater to show it off. This knit is my comfiest design to date, fitting like a cozy oversized sweatshirt.
Of course, there are always new ideas in the works. You'll have to stay tuned to see what I have up my (woolen) sleeves next!
